There is a reason the venue is called Gorge-ous Weddings besides being right on the Columbia River Gorge…the views are just…well they are gorgeous. We had a couple that had been looking for 2 years for the ‘perfect’ venue. He wanted rustic, she wanted elegant, both wanted mountains and water, plus the parents wanted a resort close by for lodging. After months of research we found Gorge-ous Weddings, the couple visited and booked it on the spot. We love working with couples at this venue as there are cabins onsite for the couple and wedding party and many times we stay onsite, allowing us to be very involved the entire weekend with our clients. This venue also creates a feeling of a destination wedding with out leaving the west coast. More importantly Molly wants everyone to have the absolutely best wedding, and she takes pride in the venue and it shows. This is our top venue for outdoor weddings and for couples that want mountains, water and so much space for everyone to enjoy the day.

Please describe your business and why or how you began.
In 2008 my husband and I were the first to get married on the property. The property has been in my family for 30+ years and I was raised here as a child. I knew as a little girl that one day I wanted to get married here on the ranch. My husband is from the city, but has always loved the outdoors. We got married in August and his family came down from Seattle. After the wedding, it was brought up by several of our family members that we should look into doing weddings at the Ranch. By the next year we had moved onto the property and started Gorge-ous Weddings.
Describe one new trend that you have incorporated within your product and, or service offering?
One trend we have seen become increasingly more popular through the years is Food Carts. Portland is known for the abundance of food carts in the city and we have had several out to the venue as the main caterer. We do not require clients to book catering through us so the options of caterers are endless. Because we don’t see this trend going we have created a large area for multiple food trucks to be onsite and right next to the reception area that includes power and easy access for the trucks.
Please list and explain one skill set that you excel at related to your business.
I take great pride in the fact that I am quick to respond to a question and reply to emails in a timely manner. I feel this is important for couples to help ease the stress of planning such a special event.
How would you describe your design or creative process for producing your end product?
The Gorge-ous Weddings venue is unique in the fact that it is essentially a blank canvas for the couple to create the wedding of their dreams. We have seen several different “themes” here at the ranch ranging from traditional decorations to a carnival themed wedding. We are here to give ideas and suggestions; however, it is completely up to the couple to decorate the event space however they would like.
